The fascinating premise is unfortunately bogged down by complicated and confusing presentation of the intended story. Ultimately, there isn't a character to root for, and it just didn't click. Book Review: The City of Stardust by Georgia Summers

Georgia Summers can clearly write, and has a potential to create fantasy worlds to draw readers into a high stakes adventure. I'll definitely follow her career eagerly, but the unconvincing romance, heavy reliance on metaphor, and the lack of strong editing makes The City of Stardust an underwhelming fantasy debut. This book is wild, dramatic, and chaotic, but most of all, it is extremely heartfelt. I really liked it, and I completely agree with the author when she says, and I paraphrase, that the problem with stories surrounding adoption is not the lack of, but rather bullshit representation. Book Review: Piglet by Lottie Hazell

An excellent, searing book that portrays the cost of living a "tick the boxes" life with a conflicted protagonist trying to understand herself on a clock where the stakes heighten with every tick. Read the post for my full review.
